when Mom is away....

Ryan & Zoe with play with her camera.

I found these silly pictures while I was uploading this morning.

They must be from the past week or so.

I love the the bed head and the "flash" smile.

I love my little family.

This layout took me 2 weeks to complete.
I got stuck a lot.
I've had this picture awhile.
It's my late Grandmother in her robe, opening presents I think.
I made a quilt bow-tie pattern with patterned papers. She was a quilter, so I thought it was fitting.

I ended up journaling on the back of the layout, because I wanted the front to stay simple.
It reads:
"I still...
-have your phone number in my cell phone
-have the last book you gave me
-keep and read the birthday cards you wrote me
-feel you near
I still miss you..."

I just put Zoe down for a nap so I'm going to go brave the rain to run some errands.
Have a great weekend!

Sleeping Beauty

This is what I found the other morning. Yes, I had opened the door, turned on the light and taken a picture with the flash.
Yes, she stills sleep with the binkie, unfortunately, but that's the only time she gets it. She also snores like her mama :) I wonder if she'll have Morgan tonsils and if they'll have to be removed.

There are little moments like these that I want to keep forever. I'm so torn between her growing up and staying little. I love watching her learn new things and discover, but I miss that little tiny baby who needed me for everything.

I'm normally in love with Winter, but our weather has been flip flopping so much lately, I'm kinda ready for Spring. I bought Zoe her first pair of shorts for the season. Yes, in the month of February. Dang You Target and your adorable summer baby clothes for $5 a piece.

I'm still scrapping pretty much every night, although that doesn't always conclude in a layout form. I still haven't finished my december daily book, or my Chirstmas pictures...but I'll get there.

Don't know our plans for this weekend...probably heading to Roseville, as usual. Maybe we'll go to the mall to switch it up :)

not much to report

I made this awhile ago for a submission, but it didn't get picked up so I thought I'd share it on the blog.
This is one of my favorite pictures of Zoe, ever. I love how tiny she is and how even though she was only 4 weeks old, you can see how she looks similar to how she looks now.

Not much else going on, preparing to attend some baby showers in the upcoming weeks.Working on some crafts. The weather has been dreary, making getting motivated, tough. Hopefully, I'll get back to being a better blogger soon.

Valentine's Day Pictures

We had a nice valentine's day starting with heart-shaped waffles, topped with strawberries and whipped cream.mmmm.

Zoe enjoyed her breakfast treat.

Zoe has been into playing with Ryan's ties lately and wanted to wear one the other night. So Ryan tied it for her, and she wore it until bathtime, it was funny. She kept moving it to the side when it would get into the way.
Our sweet niece, Corrine, left this world after 100 hours of life.
I'm so grateful for the Plan of Salvation, and knowing that we'll get to meet her sweet spirit one day.
We'll be attending her funeral this weekend and saying good-bye.
Please keep the Berg family in your thoughts and prayers.
XOXO,
Holly & Co.

Welcome Baby Corrine!

We had a new niece born this weekend,

Corrine Mae Berg.
Her stay may not be long, but we are hopeful, and grateful for her safe arrival.

Corrine's arrival and Jen's blog throughout her pregnancy, has made my faith even stronger and my gratitude for our belief in eternal families, multiply greatly.
It's made me hug my family tighter and say more, "I love you"s.

Congratulations Berg Family, we love you and are praying for you all.

rants & raves

I do apologize for the lack of posting. The past 2 weeks we've been settling into a new routine, leaving less time and energy for things like blogging :) I changed my hours at work so I could get home a little earlier, so my morning looks a little something like this now.

4:30-5:30 Get up and drag myself to the gym.

5:30-6:30 Get Ready

6:30-6:45 Get Zoe up,dressed, & breakfast

6:45- Out the door

I'd like to lie and tell you I get up every morning at 4:30 and make the most of my gym time, but that's not always the case. I usually miss one morning a week, sometimes that 4 o'clock hour is just a little too early. Then I end up, half-sleeping and thinking that I should have just gotten up at 4:30 and worked out, because I still have to get up at 5:30.

Ryan's school schedule is full. He's taking 2 math classes, so his homework level is way up this semester. Which means we are cherishing the time the Daddy isn't busy doing homework.

I've been crafting but not taking pictures, because usually when I'm done it's late and there's just crappy apartment lighting. I'll take some pictures of my recent projects this weekend.

They include, embroidary, reverse applique, scrapbooking, glitter, baking, aprons and t-shirt makeovers....

Now onto the rants & raves...
As someone who love Valentine's day for the candy....I've been extremely disappointed in the Sweethearts Conversation Hearts....they changed the flavors! They are terrible, and they added the color blue. I was so sad. I thought my Valentine's Day would be ruined this year. Until, I was in Target today. Brach's saved Valentine's Day! They only had them in the individual packs, but they had the REAL conversation hearts.

{I bought a BIG bag}
I also bought some other cute stuff at Target, but that will show up in future pictures/posts.
I'm normally not a big dress wearer, but lately, I've seen so many cute dresses, I think this will be the summer of the dress. I really like that dresses are a one piece outfit. No matching, no 3 different things to wear, just one.
I've recently gotten very attached to the show, "The Bachelor", that Texan boy, Jake just seems so genuine. Then, I discovered Realitysteve.com. * DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW ENDING* in my heart of hearts, I know it's all staged and planned, but sometimes it's fun to pretend that it's all real.

and because no post is complete without a picture....

Here's Zoe on a walk yesterday.

Valentine's Crafts

I broke out my Cricut and my American Crafts valentine's papers to create this little banner for the kitchen:

I made a heart garland too...kinda like this....{heart garland tutorial}

Roseville....again

On most weekends, it seems like we end up in Roseville.

There's just more to do there (and better places to eat :)

Saturday we visited the Fountains shopping center, which houses our favorite place. We opted to try a new restaurany instead. We went to The Counter. It was small with urban decor. The door to the patio, which was closed, is a full size clear garage door. (very cool) The menu is a clipboard with a checklist for "build your own burger". They have other menu items too, like the grilled cheese trifecta (which is what I got) Zoe got the mini burgers and they brought her food out first and way fast (we love that) Everything was great. Not healthy, but yummy! Zoe even ate the onion strings....as long as she could ,"dip it".

We ended the visit with a trip to Whole Foods, to get stuff for guacomole and homemade chips. The guac turned out great and the chips were yummy but too thick, next time we'll get thin tortillas.

I also watched the movie, Whip it.  It was funny and heartwarming "coming of age" tale as Jamie put it :)

It was nice to get out this weekend, because last weekend we were in the house the whole time, we all got anxious.

Sunday, we went to church, where nursery was a chore but Zoe managed to stay in the whole 3rd hour so Ryan and I could attend our combined meeting together. Then we ended the evening with a yummy dinner at the Humbert's.

I know life around here has been a little boring lately, not a ton new to post. Hopefully this week will hold something more exciting to post about. We are planning a trip to the zoo, provided the weather warms up soon.

XOXO,

Holly & Co.
